About This Course

Course Training Duration: 20-24 September 2024
Mode of Training: 09:00 to 18:00

An entry level for the certification of IRATA to get started in the Industry. Minimum age requirement shall be 18 years old. As the course will be physically challenging, participants must be physically and medically fit and will learn the techniques of rope access maneuvers on a pre rigged rope course. Participant will also learn a basic rescue and hauling technique.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

To be a professional and certified IRATA rope access technician, with the ability to work in any difficult to access or work at height situation.

BENEFITS

Upon successful completion of the course, learner will be able to perform a specified range of rope access tasks under the supervision of a Level 3 rope access safety supervisor. He/she will be:

• able to understand and follow the rope access procedures, method statements and associated risk assessments;
• responsible for pre-use checks of his/her own rope access equipment;
• able to assist in rigging and other operations, under the guidance of a higher grade;
• able to undertake a simple rescue in descent, and assist in rescue operations.

TRAINEE RATIO

The instructor to trainee ratio is 1:6.
The Level 3 to trainee ratio is 1:4.

ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION

The course is assessed by an independent IRATA approved assessor. It includes a short written/objective multiple-choice paper and practical scenarios.

Delegates who have attended and successfully completed both the practical & written assessments will be awarded an IRATA certificate, IRATA logbook and ID card.
